We offer our cyber ranges both as a subscription-based SaaS service
and as a custom solution, depending on the client’s specific needs.
How do you determine which one would work best for your specific requirements?
If yours is one of the organizations where certain type of IT infrastructure always needs to sit inside your own firewall, the answer is clear – we will offer our custom cyber range solution that will be installed on-premise, and you will take it from there. We will of course always remain available for support as needed.
From the costs perspective, if you are relatively certain about what your cyber security training needs will be over the next 3-5 years, we would recommend a custom cyber range solution. Relatively predictable cyber range requirements over a lengthy period of time result in a cost-benefit analysis where an investment in your own IT infrastructure and personnel will most likely be a more cost-effective solution for you than purchasing a subscription service. Make sure that your equipment and personnel will not sit idle for long periods of time to undermine the business case for your investment.
With a custom cyber range solution, we will naturally always flex to your very specific requirements. Sometimes there might be cost threshold involved with increasing the capacity of the range that might be sizable. For instance, accommodating for 500 additional users to the range might necessitate the purchase of additional computing power. (Note the previous argument about the predictability of the resource needs over time.) If possible policy-wise, you may want to consider a cyber range subscription service if you see a lot of unpredictability ahead.
