CybExer Technologies and the Cyber-Defence Campus of the Swiss Federal Office of Defence Procurement armasuisse are joining forces to explore the integration of artificial intelligence into cyber range technology, focusing on the application of AI across blue teaming, red teaming, and other cybersecurity functions. This public-private partnership, is a collaboration where public institutions and private companies combine their strengths to achieve shared goals. In this case, the partnership leverages CybExer's access to cyber training infrastructure and data, and the Cyber-Defence Campus' expertise in research and innovation, leading in the research and application of artificial intelligence for cyber defense.

“Looking to the future, our responsibility is to anticipate what cyber ranges will need to deliver in three or even five years’ time,” said Lauri Almann, Co-Founder of CybExer Technologies. “This project is one in a series of initiatives ensuring that CybExer stays at the forefront of innovation, especially in the age of AI. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in bringing cutting-edge academic and applied research together to address the evolving needs of cyber defense.”

In addition, the parties will jointly publish research outcomes and developed systems, contributing to transparency, knowledge dissemination, and sector-wide innovation.

“Testing new cyber defense systems requires both realistic infrastructure and representative data. Our partnership with CybExer provides us access to a state-of-the-art testing environment and the datasets we need to rigorously evaluate and refine our research prototypes. This collaboration is a step towards translating innovative research into practical, resilient cyber defense solutions” – Dr Vincent Lenders – Head of Cyber-Defence Campus

The Cyber-Defence Campus (CYD Campus) of the Swiss Federal Office of Defence Procurement armasuisse, was founded in 2019 in order to strengthen Switzerland’s cyber defense and to anticipate cyber developments more quickly. It forms the link between the Swiss government, industry and academia in research, development, and training for cyber defense.

CybExer’s cyber range platform provides state-of-the-art environments for testing, training, and developing cybersecurity capabilities, including the safe and effective integration of AI models.

It was recently announced that CybExer Technologies will be leading the AI-focused workstream within the European Defence Fund (EDF) funded CITADEL Range project, contributing to the development of advanced AI-enabled cybersecurity capabilities.
